How do I set a customized and automated "your text message was received" message over SMS?

Thanks in advance! I want to make sure they know I received their text.

Hi!

You can achieve this through a "global" Rule and a Step Sequence. First, make sure you have purchased an SMS Number. For more information on that, check out this article. Once you have your number, you're ready.

To make the Rule, follow these instructions:

  • Go to Contacts > Rules
  • Click "New Rule"
  • Set the Rule up as trigger: SMS Received from Contact on Any Number....if this is true: leave blank...outcome: Add Contact to Sequence "SMS Response."
  • Save

Overall, this Rule would look like this and will trigger every time a Contact texts your SMS numbers.

The Step Sequence should have an immediate (or delayed, your choice) SMS step. It will look like this:
